Description:
COOPER-CHINOOK Formula Ford.
At the end of l969 Cooper Racing Cars closed its doors. The entire stock of cars, parts, jigs, moulds, etc. was then sold off to Fejer Racing Cars of Toronto, run by the Hungarian brothers, George and Rudy Fejer. Until then the Fejers had built Can-Am, F5000, Indy and F-Vee Chinook Racing Cars.
After purchasing the Cooper stock many Cooper parts were used to make the l970 Cooper-Chinook FF. The car bore a close resemblance to the Lotus 51/61 chassis and used a Lotus 59 inspired bodyshell. The cars ran in both FF spec with 1600 XF engines, and also Formula B spec with Lotus Twin Cam engines, wider wheels and bigger brakes.
This particular car was imported from Canada recently in very poor condition and has undergone a chassis up rebuild to FF spec including :
Rebuilt chassis newly powder coated,
New Bodywork and screen,
New Wishbones and Links,
New Rose joints and Bushes,
New rear Uprights,
New Front Stub Axles,
New discs and Callipers,
New Brake and Accelerator pedals
Repaired Oil Tank,
