Description:

Chassis #07 was constructed for use during the 1971 racing season. The Surtees was intended to be a works car to be raced in the U.S. Peter Revson raced the car at the Questor GP, the Formula One/Formula 5000 race held at the Ontario Motor Speedway in Southern California in early 1971. The car then returned to Alan Rollinson in England. Rollinson won Round 8 of the Rothmans Formula 5000 Championship at Monza with the TS8 on June 20, 1971. Alan Brodie and Steve Thompson raced the car in 1972. Thompson won the Boxing Day Formula Libre race at Mallory Park.

In 1973, Ray Allan raced the Surtees under the Servis Appliances Racing Team banner at the International Trophy race on April 8th. In September, 1973, the car may have gone next to Robin Darlington. By 1974, Colin Andrews was racing the TS8. Thereafter the car was run in hill climb and sprint events by various drivers, including Stephen Cuff, Alan Richards, and Bob Clapham through the early 1980's. Brian Redman then brought the Surtees back to the U.S. where the car was restored. The car has remained in the U.S. since. It still retains its original tub, bodywork, and wheels.

The TS8 is powered by an injected, 5 liter, Chevy with Hewland DG 300 gearbox. The TS8 was restored in the late 1990's. It was freshened again in 2010, including new fuel cells, resetting of the valves, compression and leak down testing, and the plugs were replaced. The shocks were also rebuilt. All four corners were disassembled and the bearings were repacked. The wheels were crack checked, and all fluids were replaced. The car was also track tested. It is in very fine condition.
