Description:

Lotus 47/GT/76

This car had an outstanding and unusual race history, driven by Paul Kerridge in the late 1960's and early 1970's both in the U.K. and later in Germany, Holland and Sweden. It was mentioned in many articles both in Autosport and Motoring News in 1968, 69 and 70 and was a winner in Autocross and Rallycross Championships and received coverage and congratulations from Lotus Cars. Fully documented by photographs and film from the first and second owners, the car is now in faultless condition with FIA papers and an HTTP passport. Raceable in Tour de France Automobilia and BARC Spirit. There is a fire extinguisher system, full harness, and roll cage, Girling 3-pot calipers, and twin aluminium long distance tanks. Everything is new or rebuilt to the highest standard. There are Registration papers and Number plates for both the U.K. and Sweden.
47/76 has done just 3 hours running both on a rolling road and the track, for set-up purposes and is thus ready to race. The 1598cc steel Lotus-BRM twin cam gives 154bhp at the rear wheels and the Hewland FT 200 is very sweet. There are very few of these cars in raceworthy codition in the world, perhaps 2 in the USA , 2 in Japan, 2 in Portugal and 1 in the UK. The car has not been seen in public in the U.K. since 1976, but is well known to the Historic Lotus Register.
