This is believed to be the prototype Lola T200, chassis number AM2 T200-1, which became the works team car for the 1970 season, campaigned by Tony Trimmer and Peter Hull, and has an HSCC vehicle identity form. The car has completed 2 races this year, having been meticulously rebuilt over the last winter, with many new parts, including rear uprights. The chassis was stripped, checked, powder-coated, and fitted with a new floor. The previous winter, it had new master cylinders, brake hoses, rose joints, foam-filled fuel tank, instruments, fire extinguisher and harness. A stronger roll hoop brace, and safety pins on the driveshafts were fitted. The gearbox was also rebuilt at that time and fitted with a new crownwheel and pinion. The engine was rebuilt by Bernard Baxter in April 2011. A new Varley Red Top battery and new Weller wheels have recently been fitted, and the tyres are 2 races old. This is a race-ready, well-sorted car, in immaculate condition, and comes with many spares, including gear ratios, suspension parts, springs, wishbone jigs, and 3 sets of wheels. A spare engine, currently being rebuilt, is also available separately. SOLD THROUGH RACECARSDIRECT.COM |
