1965 Ford Mk1 Lotus Cortina Historic FIA
The car is listed for sale on ‘The Market’ auction site www.the market.co.uk/ with a very realistic reserve.
Ford Lotus Cortina Mk1 twin cam. An original BA74 Lotus Cortina with lots of history and bills.
The paintwork and bodyshell are in excellent condition. The boot, bonnet and doors are alloy, and the wheels are minilite style with Dunlop racing tyres all round.
The suspension geometry has been professionally set up and thoroughly checked ready to race.
The engine was built by Ridgeway engines in Swindon (please see link) costing over £16k with a new race head, steel crank etc. and has hardly been used since. The car has recently been on the Dyno at Northampton Motorsport.
The gearbox internals were newly replaced as was the LSD along with upgraded half shafts. The diff casing is alloy as is the bell housing. Fuel and brake lines are by aeroquip, and the boot contains an alloy foam filled race tank (low centre of gravity).
Inside the car there is a new carbon Sabelt race seat (£3k), along with TRS 6 point race belts which are all in date. A brand new race battery has been fitted, and a new Smiths rev counter. The steering wheel is by Mota-Lita and is quick release. The plumbed fire extinquisher has just been recharged, and the car comes with a brand new transponder.
There are a reasonable amount of spares with the car including a full set of minilite style wheels and Dunlop race tyres.
The car can be raced in a number of series such as the CSCC Classic K or The Masters where it was most recently raced. Due to a change in circumstances I am reluctantly having to sell the car.
Please feel free to contact me for more details or to view the car. I also have an almost brand new Brian James 4 wheel race trailer which is available by separate negotiation.
