FORD MUSTANG COBRA 1999 4.6 V8
Opportunity to purchase a rare New Edge Mustang Cobra race car (we believe its the only one in Europe). The car was built professionally for Mark Ackley and Todd Snijder to race in Motorola Cup, scoring outright victories at Watkins Glen and Sebring in 1999 . It was then raced in the Grand Am series until 2003 by the same drivers before being retired and used for promotional/display purposes until offerd for sale in 2018.
Tracktimesolutions purchased and imported the car from the USA earlier this year and after extensive professional recommissioning its now ready to race again. masses of photos and detail of work undertaken available.
RRR Engineering removed all the chassis and engine wiring, switches and built new motorsport looms front to back. They then installed the following new Ecumaster parts:
EMU Black ECU, ADU5 Dash Display, Canbus Battery Isolator, GPS Module, 8 switch keypad, new sensors throughout, and steering wheel switchgear/buttons operating traction control, pit lane speedlimiter, wipers, rainlight etc etc.
RRR Engineering also installed a new Shelby twin port fly by wire throttle body and mapped the car on their hub dyno. The engine is otherwise a standard spec 4.6 V8 32 valve DOHC Cobra engine. The Ford Competition Department engine builders hand built the unit and their signatures are on the rocker cover.
All the fuel lines, rollover valve and fittings from the Fuel Safe dry break endurance fuel cell to engine and back have all been replaced. New Ferodo DSUNO pads.
Other 2020 new parts: Sparco Evo L seat, OMP Black electric fire ext. and LED Rainlight. Seat belts in date until 2023.
Suspension: Coil springs(adjustable platform) and 2 way adjustable Koni shocks. Front and rear ARBs. Adjustable caster/camber plates. 1 x set of new staggered Mustang rims(3 x 18"wheel sets in total). Hoosier slicks and wets, Pirelli Trofeo List 1b and Uniroyal Rainsport(new)all come with the car, together with various replacement body panels.
All the above has been completed to race the car with CSCC Modern Classics where we think it fits perfectly and believe it will be very competitive with the right driver.
Serious enquiries only please. Tracktimesolutions are happy to discuss running the car in CSCC Modern Classics for the right driver/s. it could also run in CSCC Open Series and the Slick Series. The engine is massively understressed and with a supercharger kit will produce a safe 600 bhp. Current power is aprox 330bhp but with massive torque.
Im sure Ive missed loads of stuff. This is a car which will be an appreciating asset.
Update: This car will be auctioned on www.selectinggear.com online auction on 19th September 2020.
