Due to a change in direction Steve Cole offers for sale a fully recommissioned FIA Appendix ‘K’ Specification Lotus Cortina Mk1 1600 Twin Cam, ‘Ultra Close Ratio’ competition gearbox and assorted spares.

ENGINE - The engine, originally commissioned for the build of a sister car to the vendors class winning (Appendix K) Mk1 Lotus Cortina, has benefited from a meticulous rebuild by a former Cosworth F1 Engineer, utilising the latest Nick Stagg components. The engine comes complete, set up and ready to go, fitted with a distributor, Twin 45 Weber Carburettors,  AP Racing clutch and a tubular exhaust manifold. 

The engine has zero miles on it and is completely fresh having only undergone a bench test post rebuild late summer 2020.

A comprehensive Photographic record of the rebuild, detailed parts list, and build sheet shall be included in the sale documenting the work carried out during the rebuild for the buyer’s peace of mind.

GEARBOX – Built by renowned rally preparation specialists Roscoe Engineering, this Ford 4 speed 3 rail box, fitted with Quaife straight cut gears has been freshly rebuilt with steel baulk rings on 1st 2nd and 3rd with steel forks and an alloy tailshaft. Strong, reliable and competitive set up which would be ideal for Circuit Racing, Sprints and Hillclimbs.

The gearbox has the following ratios:
