Corvette - 1965 327/375 - Great history!
Here is a very well kept fast Corvette with good history! From a previous client, Doug's cars are awesome, we sold his Trans-Am Mustang a few years ago! His crs are ery nice, a racing family!

Notes/Race History: Car was delivered to a South Bend (IN)Chevrolet dealer's son (last name Menz), who immediately took off the knock-off wheels, removed the windshield and entered a hill climb race. Within a year he obtained his competition licence and road raced the car in the SCCA Central and Ohio and Chicago Regions. Never registered as a street car. Sold the car in 1967 to two partners Bob Barnes and Howard Parks who were part of the TURTLE RACERS. Car ran Daytona 24 hours in 1967, 68 and69. DRIVERS in 2-2- 69 were Wedge Rafferty, Jack Gearhart, and Dick Wisler. Later, the fenders the got flared, a 350 LT-1 type engine with a carburetor replaced the original fuerl injected 327 and painted it was painted Kelly Green and raced the car extensively. Painted white with blue stripes, it wound up in open storage until 1984 when Lowell McGuire bought it. He gave the car a splashy Red / White / Blue paint job, numbered the #1, and entered it in SCCA autocross events in Topeka (KS), until 1988. Dave Rex bought the car at Corvette Expo in Spring of 1990. Dave listed it in AUTOWEEK in October 1991, and Chris Wickersham brought it back to California and removed the flared fenders, installed a correct 327/375hp fuel injection engine as originl, painted it Nassau Blue and vintage raced it at HMSA and Monterey Historic events from 93 thru 98. Car was sold in 98 and raced in VARA events. UPDATE 10-2010, 327 engine was replaced with a 350 LT-1 type. Racing today with the fuel injection unit, big racing seat, aftermarket gauges. Painted red, seen at 2010 Coronado Speed Festival , race #26, driven by Doug Manista from Newport Beach (CA). UPDATE 9-15-16, Doug has the car in great original livery as DAYTONA 1969 era. Fuel injection unit still being used. Raced 2016 Coronado Speed Week.
