Description:
This 2005 Panoz GF09 was purchased new by Newman/Haas Racing for use at the 2005 Indianapolis 500 with driver Sébastien Bourdais, who qualified 15th and finished 12th after a crash in the closing laps. It was purchased by the seller in 2006 and subsequently converted to road course specification. The car features a carbon-fiber monocoque finished in a blue, white, and gold Centrix Financial livery, and power comes from a replacement 3.5-liter Gen III Chevrolet V8 paired with an Xtrac 295 six-speed sequential gearbox. Equipment includes a road course suspension with Öhlins TT44 shocks, 15″ OZ Racing wheels, high-downforce wings, a PI Sigma multi-function steering wheel, a Pi Sigma Elite data logger, and a Pectel T10s ECU. This GF09 is now offered in New Jersey, with auxiliary equipment and a bill of sale.
Originally fitted with a Honda V8, the car is now powered by a 3.5-liter Chevrolet Gen III Indycar V8 that was installed under the seller’s ownership and features a Pectel T10s ECU as well as a custom airbox designed by Panoz/Lola designer Simon Marshall and Ben Bowlby. Custom Howerton Products headers are also fitted. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed sequential Xtrac 295 gearbox.
