1962 Jaguar 3.8 E type Fixed Head Coupe finished in Carmen Red with a contrasting black hide interior in really splendid condition. Being an early car, it has the benefit of a polished aluminium dashboard and centre console and taking into consideration that the nut and bolt restoration on this car was completed over 20 years ago, it has remained in exceptional condition throughout. The 3.8 litre, twin overhead camshaft engine performs very well with masses of power and torque and holds excellent oil pressure throughout the rev range. During the restoration various upgrades were undertaken, all of which are of benefit and improve the driving experience. These include an up-to-date brake servo system and more efficient 4 pot callipers for much improved braking and the installation of an electric Kenlowe fan for improved cooling. It also has the benefit of a high torque starter motor, and a modern alternator has replaced the original dynamo. Owned by the present custodian for over 20 years, it has been used on an occasional basis and the mileage during his ownership has been kept to a minimum. It was originally supplied by Henley’s of London and is an original UK supplied Right Hand Drive example. It comes with an ample service history file containing a full mot history, a Jaguar Heritage certificate and a full photographic record of the restoration together with invoices dating back to 1993. Sitting on chrome wire wheels, the car presents extremely well from both the bodywork point of view and the clean unmarked interior. On lifting the bonnet, it becomes immediately obvious that a lot of care and attention has been lavished on this fine motor car to keep it in such well-preserved condition.
