Our 2005 BTCC Honda Integra DC5 is now up for sale after 3 years of ownership. This is the genuine car from the 2005 BTCC championship winning Team Halfords. This car is chassis number #2 of four cars which were produced for the team and is also the last one in the UK, this has been confirmed by Team Dynamics Motorsport director, Matt Neal.

 

Dan Eaves piloted this car and became the first ever BTCC driver to win all three races at Thruxton in it. The car also won another 5 races that season, set 5 fastest laps, eventually finishing third that year in the championship behind Yvan Muller and Matt Neal.

The car was re-liveried to it’s 2005 graphics and has had a full refurbishment in the hands of race preparer In2Racing. The work was very comprehensive with a new fuel system being fitted, hubs and struts (£3,100 for the struts alone) brakes and suspension. It also benefits from a full Neil Brown Engineering engine rebuild, to race-spec, (£29,000) and an X-Trac gearbox rebuild too (circa £10,000). The wheels were refurbished in October 2018 at a cost of £2,800.

 

The car produces 275bhp and is mated to an X-trac 406 6-speed sequential gearbox. You can see what we have done with the car during our ownership in the links below:

This car does require a team to prepare and use the car. For example, the car requires warming up for 30 minutes using the water pre-heaters before use due to the tolerances being so tight. We have used the car on a track day and also competitively in Time Attack UK. It is fully prepared and ready to go racing should you wish to do so, being eligible for the Dunlop Saloon Car Cup Series and the Super Touring Car Register Series. The identity form and passport of the car are present too.
