1971 Crosslé 20F Historic Formula Ford – on the button and ready to race.

Chassis #10, of 26 20Fs produced, was built in early 1971 and shipped straight to the US where it was campaigned extensively in contemporary and then historic Formula Ford races.

It was imported to the UK in 2016 and fully rebuilt by the previous owner, who subsequently raced the car in HSCC Formula Ford.

I have owned the car since January 2020 – my timing could not have been worse! However, I did manage the occasional appearance on the HSCC HFF grid and the car is hugely enjoyable to drive. Life has changed and I can no longer devote the time the car deserves to race it more extensively.

During my ownership the car has had a full gearbox rebuild by Hewland specialist Mark Bailey Racing in August 2020 and it comes with two 4th gear ratios (24-26, 24-27).

The engine was rebuilt around a new Neil Bold-supplied Arrow Precision crank in January 2022. It’s had light use since – a couple of test days and two sprint events at Goodwood (the car taking a class win)

Fire extinguisher is in date – it’s a Lifeline Firemarshall Zero 360 (2.25kg). It was new in December 2019 and serviced in December 2021.

Belts are Lifeline Stowe 6-point which are extremely comfortable and easy to use. New in 2022 they are valid until the end of 2027.

The car comes with HSCC papers and extensive history from its time in the UK and US.

Professionally maintained throughout my ownership, it can be supplied with a full spare set of wheels, two spare nose cones and a custom made tailor-fit cover. The car has always been run on Millers semi-synthetic race grade oils and I have some spare which will be included. All parts and spares are available from the Crosslé Car Company.
