1959 MK2 Jaguar Peking to Paris Rally Car
1959 Jaguar 3.8 Mk. 2 Manual with Overdrive RHD UK reg. Built to Race/Competition Spec. This Mk 2 is an original matching numbers UK RHD car, Having had only owners from new with low mileage it a superb example.

The car had been prepared by Rally Preparation Services (RPS) to compete in the Paris to Peking rally and is finished in Dark Blue. It was built to be eligible for the rally in 2016 and upon completion has since been looked after by us here at Swallows Jaguar.
At the beginning of October 2014 the engine was removed from the car and sent to a specialist to be rebuilt with any worn or suspect parts being replaced. The gear box was also sent away for complete overhaul, the prop shaft was rebuilt with new UJs and the rear axle was completely overhauled with new bearings and a strengthened casing. In November of 2014 the shell of the car was sent off for a roll cage to be fitted and respray.
The road springs have been replaced and uprated shock absorbers fitted. (Original leaf springs will come with the car.) The steering box was rebuilt, track rod ends replaced, and new wheel bearings fitted. All the brakes were renewed and a new servo fitted. All brake and fuel lines are re-routed through the inside of the car to protect them and an additional fuel tank sourced and fitted in the back of the boot over the rear axle. A new exhaust has been fabricated out of mild steel for ease of maintenance and rebuilding in difficult places. Twin fuel pumps have been fitted side by side in the boot so we can switch from one to the other if need be. A sump guard has been fitted as well as protection for the fuel tank.
The engine is the original matching numbers refurbished 3.8 block and retains the original triple SU’s carbs with ITG filters.
The body has no modifications and still encapsulates the look, feel and charm of the mk2. 4 point safety devices roll cage fitted to the rear section of the car finished in satin black. Recaro CS adjustable black bucket seats hug the driver and support you on long endurance stints or rally’s, OMP 4 point racing harness’ and Lifeline fire Extinguisher keep the occupants safe and secure.
The running gear has been fully overhauled from top to bottom with new bearings and bushes all around, full underseal has taken place as well as coating all moving components.
Car comes with two sets of wheels, original chrome wire wheels and a set of Minilite rally wheels. 2 bags of endurance rally spares packages also come with the car.
