I bought the car 2016 with the intention of taking the engine and running gear out to put in a track day Mk4 Golf car but it was too nice to break so started to race I did 3 races with CSCC in 2016.
I decided to buy a Supacopa fpr the rest of 2016, so the Golf then was parked up and kept as a spare car in my ownership it has not been damaged and apart from a couple of little bits like coil packs it has been a great car.
The engine in the car is from a Seat Cupra 1.8t 20v

I did one round of the CSCC race meeting at Thruxton with Dave Hickton where we did well to finish the open race 9th
As i still owned the car I let Dave Hickton race at Cadwell where he got 2 impressive results
The next outing for the car was Silverstone GP, I asked Dave again to drive the Golf, 2 impressive results followed

The next out for the Golf was Thruxton, it is on my doorstep so I entered the Golf in both Thunder and Pre-2003 VW, where I think the car did well in both races, it did 2 qually and 4 races back to back, apart from the wipers stopping the car never missed a beat and in fact if I had entered properly in Thundersaloon it would have taken a class D win.

I then decided to do the last race at Castle Combe where the car is obviously out classed in the GT race but I did that race anyway and thoroughly enjoyed it and also the saloon vs GT race where I picked up the class win in front of a Golf Cup car and Gallardo
