1964 Reliant Sabre Six
From a production total of 75 coupés this is one of the only cars with current HTP papers issued in 2017. The Reliant competitions department modified three factory cars and three privateer cars for entry into a number of International rallies. Modifications included a Raymond Mays alloy head with triple twin-choke Weber carburettors and independently-branched exhaust manifolds. Between 1963 and 1965, the cars participated in the Alpine Rally, RAC Rally, Welsh Rally and Monte Carlo Rally. One car was also prepared fro the 1964 Le Mans but sadly did not gain an entry.
I have owned this car since 2013 and continually developed it most recently with Sabre guru Iain Daniels. The car had a major engine and set up overhaul last winter. Since then it has competed in two rounds of highly prestigious Royal Automobile Club Tourist Trophy For Historic Cars (Pre '63 GT) at the Donington Historic Festival and the Silverstone Classic where it finished mid field on both occassions.
Selling only because I feel I have done enverything I wanted with it and now fancy racing a 60's tin top to go with my other saloons.
