This very original E-Type 4,2 Litre OTS is a rare Series 1 1/2 version. This was the interim model between the Series 1 and 2, and only produced from Juni 1967 until July 1968. All series 1 1/2 had open headlights, but kept the narrow air intake in the bonnet. In the interior, new reclining seats were fitted and an improved dashboard layout was introduced. US-versions got a slightly less powerful engine with Stromberg carburettors to meet the new Federal safety and emissions regulations, while the European specification cars kept the set-up with triple SU carburettors producing 265 bhp.

The example we are offering for sale was delivered new in Belgium by Dolf De Ridder in Haasdonk, one of the oldest Jaguar dealers in the country. The car only had 2 owners in total, and the total mileage of 51.740 km is correct. It is still in original and unrestored condition, and only had a quality repaint in its original colour "Dark Blue". The rest of the car is as it left the Browns Lane factory at the end of 1967, including the original vinyl hood and completely original interior. Even the carpets are still the original ones, and have faded beautifully in colour due to age and sunlight. This is a timewarp car and still in very good condition. It drives incredibly smooth and soft, and the driving experience is as only an unrestored car can offer. It is of course matching nrs. and colours, and ready for immediate use.

This is a car for the real connoisseur, and it would be a shame to restore it as everything still works and looks incredibly well. It's a proper classic car, offering a fantastic vintage ambience and a great driving experience. Cars in a similar original condition are very rare, and hopefully this wonderful example will find a new custodian who will keep it as it is.
