Description:

Three B15s were raced by the Jolly Club in 1969 and 1970, drivers included Giuseppi Marriella, Luigi Petri, Franco Conti, Georgio Pianta and Alessandro Angeliri. The European championships went to circuits such as Reims, Magny-Cours, Zandvoort, Monza and Enna.

Chassis F3.69.6 was also raced in the Guards Trophey in Sept 69 at Brands Hatch, with Pianta finishing 8th. The same race featured drivers who went on to become household names including Emerson Fittipaldi, Jean-Pierre Jarier and Ronnie Peterson. James Hunt was a DNF and the race was won by works Chevron driver, Reine Wisell, also in a B15.

Chassis F3.69.6 passed through other hands in Italy before being purchased by Richard Eyre in 2009, it was returned to the UK for restoration prior to Richard competing at the Monaco historic in 2010. In 2015 the car was purchased by Steve Smith, Steve enjoyed considerable success with the car including a win at Zandvoort and had a Members Meeting invitation.

Fitted with a Richardson engine, approx. 10 hours, the car comes with a good history file, spare ratios, springs and other parts plus information compiled by Steve Smith on set-up and other race detail.

The car is in its original livery and displaying number 46, as it was at Brands in 1969. The Jolly Club B15’s are featured in the book, In The Minds Eye, by Kevin Hodgkinson.

The car has a Derek Bell entry and can be viewed at the Members Meeting 13th/14th April and after this date in Wiltshire.

HSCC run the annual HF3 championship which is made up of approx. 6 meetings with mostly double-header races. Grids normally consist of 20-30 cars, racing standards are high and there is excellent event and social back-up from the HF3 Association.
