2018 Caterham Roadsport race car for sale

The car was built for the 2018 Caterham Academy series and registered in January 2018.

Caterham Academy specification includes:

· 1.6 Ford Sigma engine producing 125bhp

· Mazda 5-speed gearbox

· Fully adjustable coil over dampers

· 13” Apollo silver alloy wheels

· Race prepared and meets all current MSA specifications for use as a race car

After competing in the 2018 Caterham Academy series the car was professionally upgraded to Caterham Roadsport specification by DPR – a leading team specialising in preparing and maintaining Caterhams for racing. DPR has prepared many of the winning cars in each race category over a number of years. The upgrades included:

· AP brake bias valve

· Rear braided brake hoses

· Upgraded AP Race brake master cylinder

· Rear antiroll bar with additional ball ends

· Upgraded front antiroll bar

· K&N air filter

· Lowered front wingstays

· Upgraded brake pads front and rear

· Upgraded tyres to Avon ZZS

· Suspension setup to DPR’s race-proven specifications and flat floored

The engine runs with Miller CFS 0W30 NT+ engine oil for reduced engine friction and longer engine life.

The car competed in the Caterham Academy 2018 and Caterham Roadsport 2019. It is fully prepared and ready to race in Caterham Roadsport and remains eligible for entry into that series in future seasons. Alternatively it can easily be returned to Caterham Academy specification for anyone training prior to entering that series or for instructors wishing to offer training in a car to this specification. It also could be upgraded to Caterham 270R or 310R specification for entry into either of those series or prepared for various other series such as Caterham Graduates. The car remains registered for the road and is road legal and comes with doors, passenger seat and the original full hood (hardly used).

The car has a Caterham edition VBox Lite datalogger with OLED display (current cost £1,400 new), fitted by Caterham. The main unit for this was replaced in August 2019 and is under warranty until August 2020. This can be included with the car by separate negotiation.

The car is in near perfect condition having been professionally prepared and then raced by its over-cautious owner in only 13 race weekends, and garaged at all other times. The tyres are partly worn, with around 50% of their tread remaining and are eligible for use in the relevant 2020 Caterham championships. The car is currently finished in Gloss Anthracite with Gloss Sunflower stripes and decals.

Williams are also handling the sale of my PRG Mini Sport trailer, with fitted tyre rack, centre decking, rear support stands, manual winch and 2-jerry can storage locker. Bought new in 2018 this model fits into a standard single garage and mine has been stored in a garage throughout its life when not in use.
