Mk1 Ford Escort 2.0 pinto 

Full race mk1 Ford escort , multiple race winning car , ready to go . 

Bodywork was completely redone a couple of years ago, every panel was new apart from roof which magnum didn’t do then so we found a really good used one. 
Fibreglass bubbles, bonnet and boot. Alloy fuel cell with monza filler
Car has raced for most of its life so has never seen snow or salt.

Top end.
Very heavily modified head!! inserts fitted to inlet ports to realign air flow. big valves fitted inlet 1.8" exhaust 1.5" both ground with special angles.
The head was fully developed on a super flow head bench and all ports balanced for maximum flow rates. 
Then from this info a cam was designed and custom ground at Piper cams, who also supplied valve springs cam followers and vernior pulley.
All rocker geometry was set and adjusted by grinding the valve tips and adjusting post heights so all the inlet valve lifts are the same also the exhausts to.
The inlet manifold was also modified to re position with the new port shape.
50 dcoe carbs with webber linkage and custom trumpets and chokes.

Cosworth 205 block 
bored and honed to our own spec and finish 
Fully de burred and polished.
Skimmed on the crank centre line for 0 run out.
o ringed for gasket location.
Blue printed

Fully balanced with light weight flywheel and super clutch 7.1,4"
Dry sumped with titan pump cosworth group a head gasket

This engine originally made 228bhp and 171ft lbs on a free stand engine dyno with absolute perfect running conditions.
Then as the engine goes into the car and a chassis dyno is used the power decreases which is very normal mainly due to heat and hot intake conditions.

The special thing about this engine is that it pulls from very low down and keeps on going all the way to the top, This is what we always try to achieve with a flat torque curve.

Gearbox is quaife type 9 clubman box with quickshift and alloy bellhousing. 

Coil over Gaz front legs, anti dive, rose jointed arms.
Rear is leaf springs, Gaz shocks and radius arms (so it is legal to race everywhere, even stuff like toyos)
Quick rack, quick release works style wheel. Corbeau seat with harnesses

8x13 minilites with good toyo tyres, willwood 4 pot brakes, recently overhauled with new seals etc and pads (done one meeting)
