The Zakspeed team from Niederzissen in Germany is popular among the F1 fans for their 1985-89 effort. They entered 74 GP's and were at one stage producing an F1 car with their own chassis. But before their F1 era, the team founded by Erich Zakowski was known for its deep links with Ford in touring cars and silhouette racing. Their group 2 Escorts and group 5 Capris have trusted podiums for many years in the ETC and DTM or IMSA races.
Back in 1977, Zakspeed built a batch of new Ford Escort RS1800 mkII following the FIA group 2 regulations. 
This faithful recreation was built for circuit racing from an excellent RHD original RS2000 shell in 2020. The car was stripped blasted and seam welded, before adding a full FIA spec custom cage and 5 link, Tubbed for 15” wheels in addition to all of the usual chassis reinforcements. 
MDVSE Zakspeed style/ X Pack fiberglass arches were added, along with fibre glass doors and boot lit. Before being professionally painted in ford diamond white. The car is immaculate. 
The Escort is powered by a Connaught Build Warrior 16v valve engine on Roller throttles and mappable DTA engine managements. Using a Mike Edwards S/S manifold and exhaust system Set up and mapped by Stanton Motorsport the engine develops over 300HP at the flywheel.- Dyno plots available on request.
Power is sent through a new Quife 6G Sequential box with flat shift, to a SHP built Atlas axle with Gripper diff and Quaife shafts to fully floating hubs. 
Braking is taken care of by an SHP RSR set up with 6 pots on the front and 4 pots on the rear. 
Wheels are 9 x 15 all round, there are 3 sets with the car with new slicks wets and inters mounted.
Electronic Power Steering is 2.2 : 1 using a quaife rack mounted to a Gratrac Cross Member. 
Fully adjustable suspension, grp 2 style lower arms and compression struts. 
Car was professionally set up by SHP.
All seats, belts, and plumbed in extinguisher are in date. The car is ready to go and on the money. 
The car has a V5 and is currently SORN.
