Description:

Available to view and passenger in at Donnington on 28th April and various other days on a monthly basis. Also includes a straight piped rear section of the exhuast for noisy days!

Built in 2007, this F430 Challenge is understood to have been run by the Ferrari Dealer Team GB in its early life, meaning it was treated to truly fastidious maintenance and improvements to ensure it was always among the fastest cars on the grid. The previous owner had the car for four years, and reports that every time he has taken to the track, it has achieved either an overall pole or a class pole position.

The F430 Challenge was built to meet the expectations of Ferrari’s track-going clients, and features a Lexan windscreen and carbon-fibre intake cover, as well as revisions to the torsion bars and springs. It weighs around 125kg less than the standard road car. The F1 transmission gear ratios for fifth and sixth gear were changed, as was the final drive, to further increase performance. An ultra-light exhaust system was installed, and the ducts around the body were modified to improve air flow. This particular car has been equipped with the full FF Corse three-way adjustable shock absorbers.

The only known damage to the car was to the bumper and driver’s side front wing, and the latter was replaced, but the other panels are believed to be original. It has evidently been resprayed in the past, and presents superbly today. As you would expect, there are some noticeable nicks and scuffs on the low front splitter, and some other chips in the paint around the front end and down the flanks, but overall this certainly looks like a well-cared for track car. The light lenses are in good condition, and the 19-inch centre-lock alloys have been refinished in matt black.

The cabin features a full roll cage, racing seats and five-point safety harnesses. There is a digital dashboard display and a separate Racelogic box for additional telemetry. Ahead of the driver is a quick-release steering wheel, fitted with buttons for radio communication and a pit lane speed limiter. It retains the Alcantara-trimmed dashboard with red contrast stitching, and carbon-fibre is used for the door panels, centre dashboard console, and the top panel on the transmission tunnel - which also houses the master switch and OMP fire extinguisher controls. There are no known faults with any of the switchgear or electrics.

Mechanically, this car has previously been maintained during the by Ferrari specialist RnR Performance Cars in Kent. It was given a service and check-over every time the car was used, as well as other more significant preventative maintenance work, including a complete top end rebuild of the engine, four new wheel bearings, new exhaust manifolds, new gearbox sensors, and a new gearbox pump and mountings. Prior to that it was run by FF Corse.

This Ferrari F430 Challenge is an excellent example of the track-honed variant of an acclaimed mid-engined supercar. The vendor owns a number of Ferraris and track cars, and believes this is probably the most well-sorted car of its kind. It is eligible for a range of events, including Ferrari Club Racing, Britcar, the GT Cup Championship, Ferrari Club Deutschland racing series, and the AMOC Intermarque GT Challenge.
