Description:
Chassis HU30 was one of six of T290’s exported to the Japanese Le Mans team in mid 1972. Little is known of its history prior to its restoration completed in 2018 by David Gathercole, commissioned by the current owner. The car is powered by 1800 FVC producing 280BHP again built by David Gathercole.
Its first event was the 2018 HSCC Silverstone Pre 80 Endurance race where the owner finished 3rd having fought through the field after starting from the pitlane. Lap time of 2.0579 was 1.3 seconds off the winning Lola T282. Not bad fresh out of the box!
The car has been used sparingly since due to the recent restrictions in racing. Recent development by Nigel Rees should ensure that the next owner has a fully sorted car to go and hunt the podiums..
The car comes race ready with current HTP papers to 2028, spares package includes 12 wheels, 8 dry tyres (4 unused) and 4 wets unused.
