William I'Anson Ltd are delighted to offer for sale the World Sportscar Championship Winning 1974 Alfa Romeo Tipo 33/TT/12, driven by some of the greatest names in history: Merzario, Ickx, Andretti, Redman, Mass, Laffite and Brambilla.

Few cars can boast such an illustrious driver line up and race record as this stunning example that we have the privilege of being able to offer here for sale.

Driven with great success by Italian ace Arturo Merzario for both the 1974 and 1975 World Championship seasons, sharing the driving duties with some of the greatest names of their time - Jacky Ickx, Mario Andretti, Brian Redman, Jochen Mass, Jacques Laffite, Nino Vaccarella, Vittorio Brambilla.

During the 1975 season Merzario and 008 did not finish below 2nd place, securing four wins and four 2nd places, not only taking the Drivers Championship for Merzario but also instrumental in Autodelta and Willi Kauhsen Racing winning the 1975 Constructors’ World Championship.

Retained by Autodelta until 1984 when bought by de Siebenthal Automobiles in Switzerland - Sales invoice on file. Subsequently sold to Matteo Carrabba, Ian Donaldson, Alexander Rittweger and the current owner. The extensive history file contains correspondence and sales invoices for all ownership changes as well as a writen declaration by Carlo Chiti himself.

Restored and race prepared for the last owner Mr. Rittweger by Tim Samways and raced by himself and Sam Hancock with Peter Auto at Paul Ricard and Le Mans Classic and again with Sam Hancock and Derek Bell at Paul Ricard.

A multiple veteran of the Goodwood Festival of Speed and featured at Salon Prive, this is an extremely rare opportunity to take the track yourself in a World Championship Winning, Works sports prototype from unquestionably the golden era of sportscar racing.
