2002 Saxo Race Car for sale
This car was built and developed for the 750mc Stock Hatch race series and ran as a VTR with a 8v engine before transitioning to Time Attack in the 1600cc 8v class. In recent years the car has been developed to run in the MSVR Trackday Championship where I changed the engine for a freshly built 16v version.
The Spec as raced last year (2022) in the MSVR TrackDay Championship is as follows :
The engine is;
1600cc 16v TU5 (VTS) engine
Omex Management & Custom Loom
The engine was fully overhauled in 2021 with race bearings and ARP bolts, new rings, gaskets and seals and is run on 10-60 Mobil 1 engine oil complete with a 13row Oil cooler.
With light head works, increased compression and playing with the timing the engine has produced 115bhp at the Hubs (proven for MSVR series power testing) and was mapped to 154bhp / 135 lb torque at the Flywheel on the last Dyno session. (Sept21)
The car is currently running a MA Gearbox, close ratio gearing with a 3.9 final drive. The last overall in Sept21 saw the addition of a Gripper Limited Slip Diff with circuit preloads and billet lightweight Flywheel.
I also installed a Satchshift Gear linkage Kit at the point of install.
Brakes are standard with Mintex F4R Pads Fronts & DS2500 rears.
Front suspension is the Gaz Gold Stock Hatch configuration adjustable height Coilovers & dampening with 250lbs springs.
Rear suspension is standard rear beam with uprated torsion & Anti roll bars with adjustable Gaz Gold shock absorbers. (Both nstalled in 2019)
The car is Fully caged with current dated FIA Seat, 6point it harness, solenoid battery cut off and Tested Fire extinguisher.
The car is really for race for 2023 season and eligible for many class and open race series … the car is currently configured for 125Bhp per ton class with Weight (30KGs) added to bring the car into Class D for MSVR Trackday Championship & Trophy series.
Car will be supplied with a section of race spares, inc 2x spare wheels and tyres.
This is a race car and as such has race related marks - it’s clean and well maintained, I want to compete in Historic racing this year and unfortunately don’t have space to keep it.
