Description:
For sale – ex-SEAT UK Leon BTCC Showcar. Build by SEATSport from a bare LHD shell to promote the brand during their BTCC programme. Full weld-in cage, all internal brackets removed and tidied up, airjacks fitting (but not plumbed in), pedal box fitted (not connected), extended steering column. Underneath, it has what is believed to be a S2000 subframe, SEATSport suspension adjusters, brackets & joints. The interior is nicely painted in silver, along with under the wheel arches. Note, this is NOT a touring-car spec cage or shell. Full BTCC bodykit and rear wing. Some of the bodykit panels are quite tatty in places (pics show the worst bits), ideally will need a good tidyup and refit of some of the kit. Good black exterior paint, been stored for 10+ years so covered in dust, but should clean up well. AP front brakes, Seat Sport 17" alloys. To be clear: no engine/ box/ electrics, dummy suspension, dummy exhaust. Would make a straightforward reshell from any road Golf mk5/Leon mk2, or VW Cup car etc. to make a fantastic race/track car.
The showcar has been in our ownership since we acquired this car directly from SEAT UK (along with the genuine Touring Cars, just sold) in 2009. It was painted in Black, with the Boardman/Club SEAT livery applied in support of the remaining semi-works Leon that continued in BTCC after the works entries pulled out. This showcar has been on display many times at Volkswagen Group's Head Office, Training Centre and dealers over the years. More recently it has had most of its livery removed and been stored in our warehouse gathering a lot of dust!
