RACING

2022 – 2023

The car has entered races within the Pre 66 Class of The Classic Touring Race Car Club around numerous circuits in the UK over two seasons and achieved wins in its class and, the best prepared car award for 2022

HISTORY

Purchased from Denmark in 2017 

Construction commenced in 2017 -2018 

• This involved a complete refurbishment of the bare metal shell

• Removal of the under seal, new front floor pan, sills and inner front wings and seam welded throughout

• A full FIA roll cage was installed and the boot and bonnet lightened

Build completed in 2018 – 2020

• All work to FIA Appendix K specification

• Sub Frames refurbished, painted and mounted on power flex black brushes

• Front Brakes and the brake master cylinder uprated with race continuous brake lines and spec linings

Laranca Engineering Race Shop are world leaders in building, preparing and racing the BMW marque with a particular emphasis on the new class 1800. To ensure the vehicle demonstrated global competitiveness, their expertise was a vital component of the vehicle’s construction.

Laranca provided front uprights with a built-in camber and differential LSD. They supplied, installed and tested a period 1800 race engine.

The car has the correct period Getrag Dogleg gearbox re-built by Retro Engineering and comes with a set of period 14-inchlite wheels on a set-up of Dunlop race tyres with plenty of tread

The race seat, harness and fire extinguisher are fully race compliant and in date
