The original was designed in 1959 by Sir Alec Issigonis for the British Motor Corporation (BMC). The model would undergo many further developments and numerous model changes were implemented, but to this day the original model still appeals most to the imagination.

In May 1964 it came off the production line and was then exported to Sweden, where it was used for various rallies. The car was owned by the same family there for a long time.
