1969 Chevron B15b formula B. Complete restoration in 2020-2021: fresh honest legal 190hp Quicksilver Racengines Lotus TC, Hewland 5 speed Mk8 by Scott Young with new ratios, shift forks. Chassis taken to bare metal, crack tested and refreshed, powdercoated. Uprights magnafluxed (fronts replaced with new) and assembled with new wheel bearings. Stub axles/hubs magnafluxed. Suspension arms crack tested and assembled with new rod-ends and spherical bearings. New wiring and plumbing throughout. New brake and clutch master cylinders, clutch slave cylinder. This car is significantly faster on the straights than Brabham BT29/35 due to the narrow tub and bodywork. A brilliant and beautiful design, with a tubular and/semi-monocoque steel chassis that was ahead of its time.
