With gut-wrenching regret I must advertise my race car for sale. I will be very sad to see this go as I was gearing up for another assault on the MR2 Championship, but the house comes first!

I have built and developed this car over the last few years and run it in multiple 750 Motor Club MR2 championship races and the Armed Forces Race Challenge. The car was a regular MR2 Champs outright podium finisher including several class wins and also a regular AFRC class winner and podium finisher. In the right hands it is certainly well sorted enough to maintain regular visits to all steps of the MR2 podium and challenge for the outright championship. This was my plan for next season following a few years away from MR2s due to work commitments, but I must now delay that ambition further due to expensive work on the house.

Spec includes:

• Around 925kg with 1/4 tank of fuel and no driver (championship regulation is 1000kg with driver after the race)
• Toyota TR type front splitter, side skirts and rear wing - all factory options so championship legal
• Factory hard top and Rogue Motorsport roof fitting brackets
• AEM induction kit
• Stainless de-cat manifold and custom stainless exhaust system with race cat
• Battery moved to under front bonnet
• Carbotech XP8 pads with plenty of life left
• Braided hoses
• MSA regulation plumbed in extinguisher (service due in Feb) and 6-point TRS Hans compatible harness (good until 2027)
• BR type RA championship spec coilovers
• Whiteline ARBs
• Whiteline camber bolts
• 50/50 crossweight distribution corner weighted and ride height set for appropriate suspension geometry
• 3 sets of wheels, currently 1 with well worn championship spec Toyo R888R tyres, 1 with un-used Toyo TR1 wet tyres (not championship legal), and 1 set with worn Nankang AR1s (also not championship legal).
• Spare black bodywork in good condition, just the odd scratch or scuff: both front wings, right rear wing and driver’s door
• Big box of engine ancillary parts and wiring
• Spare light clusters
• Passenger window glass
• Probably a few other bits I’ve forgotten to mention

 

There are a few jobs needed to get it tip top for next season but I just haven't had the time. These include:

• New CV boots. 
• New battery.
• Investigate slight coolant leak (external, not a failed head gasket).
• New tyres
• Possible replacement of window glass with lexan, as per the new championship regs (this will require adding of ballast as the car is already as light as possible to meet the min weight requirements). 
• General service - filter, plugs, oil etc - as it hasn’t seen a track this season.
• Cosmetic improvements should you wish to
