Responding to a call for tender from Ford to compete with Ferrari on the old continent, the Lotus Europe will ultimately be a 100% British project to develop an economical but high-performance sports car. Thus was born in 1966 the series 1 Type 46, a light car with only 610 kg on the scale powered by the Cléon-Alu Renault developing 82 hp.

Our 1973 model is the culmination of a development of 3 series and celebrates Lotus' victories in F1 during this period. In fact, this example is a Europe Series 3 “Special” JPS. The Cléon-alu was abandoned in favor of a Twin-cam from Ford and originally developed 126 horsepower. Our car pushes the slider a little further with an engine prepared at 155 hp.
