Eligible for Goodwood, this pristine Gilbern GT 1800 was the subject of a meticulous ground up build by its former owner and has been owned and raced by the Hutchison family for the last 5 years with HSCC, CSCC, CTCRC, Equipe Classic Racing.

The car has FIA Period F (1962-1965) papers valid to 31.12.2025.

A full engine rebuild was undertaken in 2023 by MG specialist Lackford Engineering Ltd., with only 60 mins race time since.  Full history of rebuild with photos and invoices available.

The 1845cc MGB engine is fed by a single side-draft DCOE 45mm Weber carburettor and is mated to a 4-speed MGB gearbox with the ratios: 11/28, 19/32, 29/22, 1/1. Final drive is via MGB Salisbury limited slip differential.

The rear axle is located by an adjustable Panhard rod and uprated race half-shafts were fitted in 2022.

Long range fuel tank (60 litres) is fabricated alloy and is foam filled. 

Sparco race seat is legal to end 2025; Harness legal to end 2026; plumbed-in Lifeline extinguisher last checked in Feb 2023.

HSCC Guards Trophy and Historic Road Sports, typically 8 events/year including Silverstone Festival

CSCC Classic K Series, 8 per year including Spa Francorchamps

Equipe Classic Racing, Equipe GTS, 9/year including Zandvoort

Masters Racing pre-66 grid

and all National and International FIA events for Pre-66 Appendix K cars.

The car has a V5C logbook and can be road registered, number plate CRM 23B.
