1951 Ferrari 195.S. Vignali

The car spent most of its early life in Portugal having been built to a special order for the Portuguese concessionaire. It was ordered in the middle of the Ferrari 212 run so it has a 212 chassis

The car was inspected by Ferrari Classiche in 2023 and a full detailed report undertaken

The Chassis has suffered from an over stamping some time in period, it displays the correct number but the fonts are not period Ferrari. The chassis has been tested by Ferrari and proven to be a 212 original item. It has been professionally X-rayed and no numbers were found beneath the stamp

The engine is not original to the car  but it is a 166/195 period unit. It has been totally rebuilt by a renown Ferrari specialist. During the rebuild it was noted that the engine has competition parts including a three Webber set up.

The gearbox. It is not a Ferrari gearbox but it is mated to the correct bell housing

The Axle. It is the correct 166 unit, fully stamped

The body. It is the Vignali 2+2 aluminium body but in its early life was converted to LHD. It has the correct instruments and steering wheel etc

The car still retains it original Portuguese log book and registration plates, plus being UK registered. It has competed in 5 Mille Milia events in the 1980’s, and spent 35 years in a private museum
