Smart Roadster / Lynx AE – Modsport/Hillclimb/Sprint/Track Car – Ford Duratec + Elite Sequential + Paddle Shift

Originally built between 2007 and 2009, this Smart Roadster was designed for competition in sports/saloon, Modsport, hillclimb, and sprint events. However, it was never used in competition and remained in storage until early 2024, meaning the car is essentially "as new" with only dyno miles on it since build.

Chassis & Drivetrain:

• Chassis: Lynx AE spaceframe, originally designed for a Hayabusa engine, now modified to accommodate a longitudinally-mounted Ford Duratec engine paired with an Elite 6-speed sequential gearbox.

• Gearbox: Elite sequential with Geartronics pneumatic paddle shift system.

• Clutch: AP Racing twin-plate clutch.

Engine Specification:

• Ford Duratec engine built with SBD Motorsport components:

  • Steel con rods

  • High-compression pistons

  • Dry sump system

  • Uprated cams & valve springs

• Induction: Jenvey 52mm individual throttle bodies

• Exhaust: Custom Tony Law manifold and system, ceramic coated

• ECU: DTA S40 PRO with a professionally made Raychem-spec wiring loom

Suspension & Brakes:

• Dampers: AVO adjustable coilovers

• Brakes: AP Racing calipers and discs all round

• Air Jacks: AP Racing air jack system

Additional Details:

• Car was recommissioned in March 2024 after being in long-term dry storage.

  • Original MBE ECU replaced with DTA S40 PRO

  • Geartronics firmware updated

  • Full fluid service

  • Professional mapping carried out by AP Racing Engines

• The only mileage on the car is from rolling road tuning—zero competition use since build
