Toyota group A Corolla ,
Trd ae82 gtfx , was brought into the country early 1986 for the 1986 under 2l. championship. That John smith ran and won its first event . And won the championship.
It ran 1988 Bathurst and finished 11th outright and 4th in class .
Ran in 1989 as the search for a star car by team Toyota Australia .
Car was sold to David sala in “late 1989
Car than was sold to Brad Stratton

Engine is a trd 4age 16 valve , with a trd 5 speed close ratio gearbox , with trd lsd plate type .
Ap 4 piston front calipers , coil over suspension all round .
Has under gone a mechanical resto with all the brake calipers and master cylinders being rebuilt and new rear rotors , and pads all round .
Clutch master and slave cylinder rebuilt .
Inside repainted , underside repainted , new alloy fuel tank made , reconditioned front drive shafts , new stainless exhaust , hpc coated exhaust manifold , all oils replaced , new 200 series speed flow fuel lines and fuel regulator replaced .
dyno making 150 whp at the wheels . On the factory trd ecu , 102 elf race fuel .
2 sets of wheels have been restored , new Pwr radiator fitted , new cam belt , water pump , penrite race coolant , new fuel pump,New seat belt fitted , seat has been restored that is the factory fitted trd seat as fitted in 1986.
Complete head overhaul done , new valves , springs , retainers , shim under bucket set up , large trd cams as per the day .
There is a lot of history with this car and is a lot of fun to drive .
I have done a 1.30.8 at Morgan park .
