Boutsen Classic Cars is pleased to offer this authentic Arrows A3 Formula 1, chassis number 4, an outstanding example of a Historic Formula 1 car from one of the most exciting eras of Grand Prix racing.

The Arrows A3 represents the team’s return to a conventional and highly effective Formula 1 design after the experimental A2. Designed by Tony Southgate, with Dave Wass, the A3 is renowned for its narrow, compact and well-balanced chassis, combined with excellent straight-line performance.

Provenance & History

This Arrows A3 chassis no. 4 has exceptionally clear provenance, having had only two owners since new: the Arrows Formula 1 Team and its current owner.

The car achieved remarkable period results, including:

• 2nd place at the 1980 Spanish Grand Prix
• 4th place at the Monaco Grand Prix

These results confirm the true competitiveness of the A3 during the highly competitive 1980 Formula 1 season.

Restoration & Condition

The car has been completely restored by some of the most respected specialists in the historic racing field, strictly following the most accurate period specifications.

Since its restoration, the car has never raced and has covered only approximately 40–50 km during two Minardi Day demonstration events. As a result, it presents in virtually new condition throughout.

The car is certified by Old Racing Cars, further confirming its authenticity and documented history.
