A genuine period Lancia Stratos Group 4, raced by Codognelli from 1976 to 1982, and with only three owners from new.

Starting with a Lancia Fulvia 1600 HF in 1973, Antonio Codognelli upgraded to a Lancia Beta in 1975 and naturally switched to the car to have on the rally scene in 1976: the Lancia Stratos.

The car had already been raced by fellow Italian driver Maurizio Ambrogetti in 1976 with the Milanese registration X35788 MI. The car was looked after by Jolly Club and had been prepared to Group 4 specifications by University Motors.

Codognelli acquired the car at the end of 1976 and immediately entered it in the Rally del Ciocco in December.

He would then race it extensively for six years, mainly in the Italian Championship but also in several European and World Championship rounds.

After switching to a Lancia 037, Codognelli sold the Stratos to the current owner in 1984, meaning the ownership history is crystal clear with only three owners from new, the last for 42 years.

The Stratos benefited from a full mechanical overhaul in Italy five years ago and has been used sparingly since.

It is a superb opportunity to acquire a genuine period Stratos Group 4 with a clear history, documented with numerous period photographs, Italian registration in the name of Codognelli, and even the purchase invoice from 1984.
