Description:
One of the two SL450 rally cars built by SLCRally, equipped with a 5.0-liter aluminum engine and Dutch road registration. Year of manufacture: 1974. Newly built and never used afterwards.
The SL was intended to become the successor to Mercedes’ successful SLC rally program. The SL is lighter than the SLC, while the V8 delivers the same 250 hp as the SLC. It features an aluminum hood and a Kevlar trunk lid. A limited-slip differential and a three-speed automatic transmission make this a formidable rally car (or, with minor modifications, a race car). Fully built to FIA specifications, including a roll cage, safety fuel tank, etc.
Suitable for participation in classic rallies or historic events such as the Peking to Paris Motor Challenge, Gumball 3000, or modern classic car rallies. But of course, it can also be used as an ultra-cool daily driver.
