DESCRIPTION

Few performance Fords capture the excitement of early 1990s rallying quite like the Sierra Sapphire Cosworth 4x4. Developed as Ford's four-wheel drive evolution of the legendary Sierra Cosworth, it combined turbocharged performance with exceptional traction and became one of the marque's most successful rally cars of the period. Today, it remains one of Ford's most recognisable performance models and an enduring icon of British motorsport.

First registered on 28th November 1990, H909 GKO is a UK-supplied Ford Sierra Sapphire Cosworth 4x4 that has been prepared for rally competition and is today presented in the instantly recognisable Bastos livery. According to our vendor, the car benefited from significant mechanical investment during previous ownership, including a full rebuild of the Cosworth YB engine by PJ Motorsport of Wolverhampton, respected Ford Cosworth specialists, together with further specialist work undertaken by VRS Performance. The information supplied to our vendor states that the rebuilt engine is managed by an ECU Masters Black Edition ECU and incorporates 900cc injectors, a Nuke Performance billet fuel rail, an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, a three-port electronic boost control valve, switchable anti-lag, a T3/T04E turbocharger, a Pace RS500 intercooler, a Radtec aluminium radiator, alloy header and power steering tanks, a motorsport-specification engine loom and a side-exit exhaust system.

We further understand that the drivetrain incorporates a solid-mounted four-wheel drive gearbox, a Group A gear shifter tower, a solid-mounted rear limited-slip differential and a paddle clutch. The suspension specification is understood to include Bilstein front dampers, AVO rear dampers, adjustable uniball caster and camber top mounts, four-wheel drive front uprights, Group A hubs, uniball lower arms and a strengthened rear beam.

The specification provided to our vendor also details numerous competition-derived components including Group A inner wings and jacking points, removable front wings, widened wheel arches, polycarbonate windows, a heated windscreen, roof vent, a full roll-cage extending to the front suspension turrets, a flocked competition dashboard, an adjustable brake-bias pedal box, AP Racing Pro 5000+ four-pot front brakes, Cosworth vented rear brakes, Revolution alloy wheels, a boot-mounted fuel cell with upgraded pumps, a Lifeline fire extinguishing system and an extended steering column.

Accompanying the car is a history file containing invoices together with an expired Motorsport UK Logbook and a fresh MOT until July 2027 issued with no advisories.
