For Sale: Straight original Imperial Chassis Race Car – 2.0 Duratec, 220bhp

Original C400 race chassis in clean straight nice condition.

The panels are in good condition save for one very small ding on a rear corner. The car currently has a gloss black wrap on which whilst totally acceptable for a race car, does in my opinion let down what would otherwise be a very smart car. The roll cage has been freshly powder coated in Kawasaki green.

Engine is a 2.0L ford duratec from a 420R with the standard Caterham manifold and throttle body but has uprated cams fitted by Team Leos. The engine has Cosworth dry sump system fitted just had an inspection and bottom end refresh at Dunell Engines. If has only ran on the dyno since where it ran sweetly and produced a healthy 220bhp.

The gearbox is a recently refreshed 5 speed heavy duty Type 9 with semi helical quaife internals with longer first and shorter 5th, fitted with a lightweight flywheel.

Equipped with extinguisher system and 6 point harness.

New battery fitted at the start of this year. Original C400 oil radiator replaced by Caterham 420R style oil radiator. Original C400 silencer replaced by Caterham C400 repackable silencer.

I had intended use this as a second car to get my Son on track but plans (and the economy) change!  This would make a great car for trackdays or CSCC Mag 7s.
