Ralt RT3 1984 car. Chassis No. 3-445. The chassis plate is on the car as is a period RAC embossed scrutineering seal. Genuine original chassis but fitted with Hart 2.7 litre engine and FGA gearbox. Offered with or without engine and/or gearbox. I researched the origins of this car a few years ago and found some comprehensive information on the Web, but this seems to have disappeared now. However, in 1994 it was raced by an unpronounceable South American and in 1985 it was used by James Tollerton in the British Championship. In 1986/7 it was bought by Kevin Staples from Bridgwater who had a BDA installed for Sprints and Hilllclimbs. I purchased the ‘roller’ in 1990 and subsequently installed a 2.7 litre Hart engine and FG gearbox. The chassis had a full rebuild in 2010 including replating of suspension components and new combined needle rollers etc. The engine had a comprehensive rebuild in 2010, including new pistons and liners, and a routine rebuild in 2012 (not used in 2013/14). So the car has been owned by myself for 24 years and successfully campaigned in Sprints and Hillclimbs although used for only (about) 8 seasons. Of late it has proven highly competitive in the Midland H.C. '72 to '85 Class, finishing 2nd overall in the Championship in 2012. The original F3 front and rear wings go with the chassis, and original and wide track front suspension.
