Quaife six speed sequential transaxle. Fully refreshed by Quaife.
This transmission replaced the original Hewland gearbox that was in the back of our customer's Harrier LR10 LMP900 car, it has been removed, to return the car to it's original condition.
This transmission only had a small amount of use and then car was mothballed at the end of its racing life, the car was then partially rebuilt. The gearbox was sent to Quaife and re-conditioned with any parts required and then put on the shelf ready to use.
We have removed the side cover and rear cover to confirm the gearbox's ratios and the condition of the internal parts. The photographs in the advert show the condition of the gearbox and you can see how lightly it has been used. The gearbox has had a small amount of modification to clear the starting motor, from the Porsche engine. We have been in contact with Quaife and they confirm that they still have some parts, together with all drawings and the ability to remanufacture any spares for this gearbox to keep it on the track. It is a race dog engagement sequential gearbox with straight cut gears.
The ratios are as follows:-
1st - 2.615
2nd - 1.938
3rd - 1.474
4th - 1.136
5th - 0.929
6th - 0.8
Final drive ratio 3.9
The input shaft is a 1" diameter, 23 tooth spline and the output flanges are a 6 bolt M10 fixing with a 100 mm PCD. The overall dimensions of the gearbox are 360 mm width, 230 mm at the main body and 340 mm overall height, 700 mm length.
We have actioned the gearbox and can confirm that the sequential system operates perfectly.
This transmission would suit multiple mid engined vehicles with little adaption. It has the backing of an established UK firm for spares and technical know-how. It would also be a very good spare for a historic GT car that used the Quaife transmission back in the day.
