Description:

Very reluctantly I've decided to sell my 2008 Tatuus Formula Renault, chassis 874.

I bought the car in Aug 2015 from a well known F3 team (who bought the car new in 2008, when they ran in FR). Although the car was ready to run then, I immediately commissioned a full rebuild from a very well regarded restorer of single seaters to get the car into perfect condition. The 8 month rebuild involved a complete strip down to the bare tub, which was painted to a very high standard, and the car was them re-assembled with new components where required, and all suspension crack tested and powder coated. The only things not done were the engine and dampers, which following an engine failure in July 2017 I had full rebuilds on last winter (2017/2018), along with a new clutch. Since then the car's had a half day of running-in and one full day's testing. Between the rebuild and the engine I completed a few tests and one race.

I've never gone off the circuit in the car and I always stay off the kerbs, so there is no gravel damage, and the tub is free of cracks (both are common on FRs). The car's been stored in my centrally heated garage throughout my ownership and always towed in a covered trailer. As such, this car is in practically new condition and ready for many years of enjoyment, having already had most of the jobs completed that are required on a car of this type. I've also never run the car without the BARC restrictor on the engine, which has limited the stress on components such as driveshafts, brakes etc.

The car will come with two sets of wheels fitted with FR Eurocup slicks, and one set with FR Eurocup wets. I will supply the original team's BARC setup, which the car currently has on it, as well as a 40mm Monoposto setup from a well known race team with the required rear wing end plates to comply with MSA regulations for wing height. Also included in the price are a few spares to go with the car (spare alternator, throttle cable, reverse release cable, brake pads etc). I am happy to advise any new owner on maintenance and running the car if required.

My reasons for sale are the arrival of a baby and a pay cut, so sadly I can't afford to run the car in the foreseable future.

I'm happy to deliver the car to its new owner if required.
