This Fastback Mustang, painted in its stunning metallic blue, was originally built as a road car in 1965, in which spec it stayed until 2007 when purchased by two historic racing regulars and converted with no expense spared to a historic racing spec, which included fitment of a long-range 140 litre fuel tank. 

Well known and highly regarded V8 engine specialist Steve Warrior built and maintained its engine, which makes around 440bhp, whilst John Freeman Racecar Preparation in Hampshire carried out all other work. There are a huge number of invoices from the previous owner (over 70 invoices!) showing all the work carried out from 2007-2018 when the current owner bought the car. The car has regularly turned a 1min 33 at Goodwood, having raced at the 2016, 2017, 2018 & 2019 Members’ Meetings. It’s also run in the Spa 6 Hours successfully several times. 

The car has enjoyed further maintenance during its 2019 season and much work was spent on further optimising its set up. The car is road registered in the United Kingdom and its FIA HTP papers are valid through to 2025. Conveniently located for viewing in Cheshunt (M25 junction 25), this superb Mustang is ready to be enjoyed by its next custodian due to its Antipodean owner changing their racing plans.
