MSA Logbook registered Race Car

1997 Honda Civic EK.  Ni Saloon Class A race winning car.   Honda K20 engine with high spec transmission, Gear-X close ratio gearset and OS-Giken LSD 

245bhp 169ft.lbs on 97 octane pump fuel and weighing 940kg.

Original rust free shell that has never been hit or damaged on or off the track.  Front and rear arches tubbed and sealed for clearance up to 18".  Front cross member removed and replaced with removable tube section, removal of engine is very straight forward. 

Built to a very high standard with no expense spared, all parts listed bought brand new over the past 2 years of build and development with very little use.

The car is capable of passing  Works built race cars in NA form.  Very easy car to run, I haven't had to change brake pads or rear tyres after approx 5x outings.

-Converted to a race car to full MSA specification. 

-Full custom cages weld in with added harness bar, main hoop lower bar, cross side bars dash bar and front of cage tied directly into suspension turrets.

 

-Full PCI racing aero package including quick release front splitter with diffusers and bracing, optimised PCI rear wing with alloy mount kit, PCI alloy side skirts.

*Available with lightweight FRP doors and bootlid... or lightened steel doors and boot*

-FRP bonnnet

- FRP front bumper with ducting for all coolers.

SUSPENSION & STEERING:

- Integra DC2 98-spec front Subframe, stitch welded, powdercoated and ridgid collars fitted 

- Integra DC2 98-spec front anti roll bar.

- Integra DC2 98-spec front hubs 5x114.3 (larger wheel bearings and 36mm outer CV's etc) I have found that genuine Honda driveshafts at the correct length with motorsport tripod and outer CV grease is the most reliable setup... as installed on this car.

- Integra DC2 98-spec close ratio steering rack, new inner and outer track rods and solid mounted with Honed rack bushes.

- Integra DC2 98 spec rear trailing arms and spindles, strengthened trailing arms with bracing and stitch welding. New rear hub/wheel bearing assemblies.

-Full PCI racing spherical billet handling package consisting of:

-- Billet alloy front lower arms and upper arms with castor and camber, all spherical bearings 

-- Billet alloy spherical compliance bushing

--Rear trailing arm spherical bushings 

--Billet alloy lower control arms with spherical bearings 

-- Billet alloy, spherical rear camber and toe arms. 

-- Spherical drop links 

-- Whiteline rear anti roll bar, with bracing system 

There are no rubber/poly bushings at all on the car All suspension arms, subframe with ridgid collars, roll bars are powder coated metallic grey 

- full AST suspension with custom valving and spring rates to suit suspension geometry and car setup, additional spherical top mounts.

- Brand new genuine Honda bolts throughout the car, suspension, gearbox, mounts etc 

-VDO motorsport electric powered hydraulic power steering pump with steering cooler 

 

ELECTRONICS & OTHERS:

LINK G4X Plug-in ECU

POWERTUNE Digital dash with built in GPS laptimer

-Lightweight motorsport interior fuse and relay system with custom interior loom, main switch panel

-Lightweight motorsport battery

-BOSCH Motorsport digital oil pressure and temperature sender direct to dash 

lightweight motorsport dash heater

FCS Fuel cell and separate swirl tank 20litres total capacity , this keeps weight down and keeps things simple and reliable by retaining the OEM location.  Bosch 044 motorsport pump and separate Bosch filter. 2L Swirl fed by Facet red lift pump tank pickup basket and can be ran very low on fuel with no fuel surge.

 

Interior also includes Sparco FIA bucket seat, Hans compatible 6-point harness. Suede steering wheel with quick release boss.  Battery cut off and new Lifeline MSA fire suppression system.

 

ENGINE:  Low mileage K20 Type-R engine with RRC inlet manifold, Bosch motorsport injectors, K20 oil pump, setrab oil cooler, Mugen sump with clockwise drop in baffle system

-3.5” Intake system 

-big tube 4-2-1 exhaust manifold with 3" merge collector. 

-custom mandrel bent and professionally TIG welded 3” manifold back exhaust with single motorsport silencer and 3" V-band connections for a gasket free zero maintenance solution. 

 

GEARBOX:  Full refresh with Close ratio gearset and OS-Giken Japan plated LSD 

  

-Custom OEM driveshaft set motorsport greases, new boots and zero failures 

  •         New half shaft support bearing
  •         New wheel bearings 

 

BRAKES:

-Brand new Brembo front brake system with 324mmx30 front discs and PFC pads.

  •         Brand new OEM 98-Spec DC2 rear brake calipers with DS3000 pads
  •         Brand new genuine Honda handbrake cables and brackets 
  •         ABS deleted
  •         full motorsport braided brake line system routed inside the car from front to back 
  •         lever type adjustable bias valve 

WHEELS:

Enkei Japan RPF1 wheels with TOYO R888R intermediate tyres. 
**plus an additional set of matching wheels with full slicks**

This is a very capable car that is not hard to drive fast with the current setup, very reliable, low maintenance and ready to race.  I genuinely don't think you could buy a better package for the cost in parts alone.

 

It's a reluctant sale on my part but I would like to concentrate more on developing cars for motorsport use and ideally need the capital from this car to advance to the next stage.  The last car that I built, raced and sold now holds an ITCC championship title and multiple lap records in the hands of Steven Traub.  This car is built to that same high standard.
