DE SANCTIS 1100 Formula Junior (chassis #3) 1959

This De Sanctis Formula Junior chassis #003 surely has one of the greatest provenances and histories of any Formula Junior. 

Forming part of the works team for 1959 and being raced extensively throughout 1959 and 1960 it was driven by Piero Bernabei, Menato Boffa, Alfredo Tinazzo, Giuseppe Faranda and Roberto Lippi and competed in no less than 28 races through those 2 years.  

Races included Monaco twice, Cuban GP twice, Monza five times, Vallelunga, Teramo, Pescara, Teramo, Salo etc. There were many top 3 finishes and wins.  

Also, notable history includes the fact this car was tested by Antonio Ascari as he was attempting to compete in his father’s footsteps.

This De Sanctis is presented in stunning original condition and still retains its original components down to the rare sand cast Weber DCO3 carburettors.
