Mini 1275 Race Car - SOLD
This is now SOLD. Search for similar items.
Description:
This is a complete, ready-to-go racing classic 1275 Mini currently at 2024 MM specification. I used it to compete for a few races last year in the Mighty Mini Championship (best result 4th) but it could be used in a variety of other events including CCRC, hill climbs, sprints, etc. and it is eligible for the upcoming Goodwood Sprint in November 2025.
It comes with a small stock of spares including spare wheels and tyres as per photos. The engine has just been extensively re-built by Roy Gillingham's team in Kent (invoices and rolling road documents available) plus extensive documentation on setup, etc.
The car comes complete fitted with current fire extinguisher system, seat and harness. The engine is 1275cc with a 4-speed rover box (dyno test results included), adjustable suspension, 12" Minilites, full Safety Devices cage with belt bar and double door bars, perspex windows, lightweight race battery, brand new alloy tank, and GPS speedo. The car also has a V5 (so it could theorectically be made road legal put on the road) and is currently SORN'd.
Reason for selling: Moved to Appendix K
Championship Note: Next year sees the start of the Classic Mini Racing championship for which this car will be eligible. The specifics of the formula have not (at time of writing) been published but for more information please contact the CMR team (see BRSCC | New Classic Mini Racing Events Confirmed)
A final note: At the end of September this year (2025), our son drove the car in his first ever race meeting with 2024 spec road-style tyres (not the cut slicks of the other 2025 Mighty Mini cars) and his fastest time was only 2 seconds slower than Ben Butler's in his open class Appendix K Mini with 130 BHP!!!! See the separation at the end of the race here: https://youtu.be/2YzcqtW3MUA (Note that, as you can see, the car now has Classic Mini Racing stickers on from that meeting).
