PROVENANCE/RACE HISTORY
Chassis 110304 is one of the first factory-built Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo 1 cars, supplied new by Audi Sport Customer Racing to Hitotsuyama Racing in January 2011 for the Japanese Super Taikyu Championship.
In its debut season, this very chassis won the 2011 championship and delivered a key milestone for the model: Audi’s 100th global race win for the R8 LMS platform. That result is documented in official Audi Sport material, which is included in the history file.
From 2011 to 2016 the car remained in active competition with the same team. No gaps, no missing seasons, no mystery years. The team records confirm the car was “never crashed” in their tenure. That level of uninterrupted, documented history is rare for an early GT3 car.
The file also includes the car’s entry and results from the 2011 Intercontinental Le Mans Cup – the top international endurance series of the era, which evolved directly into today’s FIA World Endurance Championship. Period competitors in the same races include Mika Häkkinen, Giancarlo Fisichella, Sébastien Bourdais and Anthony Davidson.
This is a piece of real, front-line international GT history.
CURRENT CONDITION/PRESENTATION:
The car starts and runs cleanly, drives through the gears with no obvious problems and wears a bright purple wrap from its most recent driver experience programme in Asia.
The period-correct 2011 Hitotsuyama Racing livery, in which the car won its championship and scored Audi’s 100th R8 LMS victory, is well documented and included in the archive of race photography. We would strongly recommend returning the car to this original look for historic GT3 eligibility and provenance value.
ELIGIBILITY/WHERE YOU CAN RACE IT
Pre-2015 GT3 is a fast-evolving area in historic motorsport. In 2025 we’ve seen:
• A UK-based GT3 "Legends” grid launched under the Motor Racing Legends umbrella.
• Peter Auto confirming dedicated annual GT3 content at Le Mans Classic and announcing a standalone GT3 race platform building into 2026.
• Chassis 110304 is eligible for these emerging series and represents a highly credible, reliable and competitive entry route into that world for 2026 and beyond. Recent results for early R8 LMS GT3 cars – including as recent as October 2025 at Spa – show that these cars are still quick in their GT3B class and can run at the sharp end overall.
In short, this is not a museum piece. You can actually go racing in anger, in the best company.
ON-TRACK CHARACTER
The Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo 1 delivers balance, composure and bulletproof reliability. The aluminium spaceframe chassis, naturally aspirated V10 and proven sequential paddle-shift drivetrain make it a very confidence-inspiring platform for gentleman drivers, yet still absolutely capable of front-running pace.
Setup support, spares knowledge and race engineering capability are widespread in Europe thanks to Audi Sport’s long-standing customer racing programme. You’re not fighting an orphaned one-off prototype here; you’re running a proper factory customer GT car with support culture behind it.
