KEY FACTS

A charismatic and competitive 1960s British sporting saloon, prepared for racing to FIA Appendix K specification, with a valid Historic Technical Passport (HTP) until December 2035.
It is powered by a 3.8-litre straight-six with race-prepared internals, driving the rear wheels through a four-speed manual gearbox.
The car was originally built and race-prepared by Nick Smith of Swallow Engineering in Essex, and competed in the FIA Historic Touring Car Championship during the 1990s.
Under the current long-term ownership, it was subsequently raced in UK club events.
It is believed to be the only MKII Jaguar to have taken an outright win in a round of the FIA Historic Touring Car Championship (Salzburgring).

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

This Jaguar MKII is finished in red with contrasting white racing roundels on the bonnet and doors, as well as period race livery stickers, over a largely stripped-out cabin featuring black cloth and leatherette-trimmed front bucket seats, exposed aluminium door cards, blue cloth passenger seat inserts, and a wooden dashboard and door cappings.
It rides on a set of 15-inch cross-spoke wire wheels finished in gloss-black with chrome two-spoke knock-offs, shod in Dunlop Racing tyres.
Equipment includes a Moto Lita steering wheel, a full roll cage, a foam-filled fuel tank, Ridgard and Sparco race seats with TRS and Sabelt harnesses (now out of date for competition), Smiths gauges, an Auto Meter Sport-Comp rev-counter, a partial rear seat ‘delete’ simplified aluminium door cards, a fire extinguisher with external pull, and a kill switch.
The car is supplied with a large history file containing race documentation from the 1990s and 2000s, the original FIA papers from 1992, and the current valid HTP.
It is also accompanied by its DVLA logbook and one ignition key.
The car comes with additional parts, including magnesium alloy wheels from its 1990s racing years, a set of Minilite alloy wheels with Dunlop race tyres, and wire wheels with Dunlop tyres also mounted.
The reg No is not included in the sale and is on a retention cert from DVLA. It is available by separate negotiation.

CONDITION

The body carries preserved period race stickers and is presented in its racing patina. There is a noted colour difference around the nearside headlight, which has been present during current ownership. There are minor paint blemishes, including a chip to the rear of the bonnet.
The interior has been stripped for racing, with aluminium door panels and painted surfaces. A non-functioning speedometer and a replacement rev counter with rev-limiter are fitted.
Race seats are installed, though the belts require replacement for competition.

SERVICE HISTORY

The last maintenance was in May 2024 at Motorvation in Sarratt, Hertfordshire, which included new front discs and pads being fitted, new rear brake callipers and pads installed, an engine oil and filter change, new spark plugs fitted, tyre fitting and balancing, and a replacement of the kill switch. The seller notes that Motorvation also maintained the car for track under a shared drive agreement although this is undocumented.
