Lancia Integrale 1989 Full Group A Specification

This car is based on a former Martini and Rossi show car.

The bodywork is original. The provenance has been verified by a Martini and Rossi director of the era. As a very low kilometrage show car, the vehicle was not subjected to the rigours of the weather, spending its short operational career indoors in Supermarkets and Filling Stations. This cossetted life made it the ideal basis for a full Group A specification Rally Car. The main source of parts was Lancia Specialist Matteo Pontarolo, the erstwhile largest stockholder of ex Jolly Club competition parts. Pontarolo supplied many of the ex works spec and genuine ex works parts used in the build which was contracted to the UK Marque specialist Rick Higgs of South East Wales.

The car was completely stripped before being seam welded and into this were integrated Kevlar front engine sump and diff guard mounting points. The shell is fitted with a full Safety Devices Roll cage with FIA certification.  The car is also fitted with Kevlar under body guards front and rear, and Kevlar driver and co-driver foot plates and foot rests inside. There is a full works specification Inconel exhaust system.  An alloy foam filled fuel tank in a fully enclosed capsule was also fitted.

A primary use for the car was to be the FIA Historic Rally Championship.  The car was set up to San Remo Event tarmac rally specification according to Ex Works set up sheets which are included in the sale.  This specification includes: ex-factory strut units with new damper inserts, front and rear adjustable antiroll bars, drilled and vented brakes discs with Brembo calipers all mounted to genuine factory heavy duty hubs and titanium multi-bearing strut top mounts. Steering is Group A works rack and mounts.

The engine specification includes new roller bearing works turbo with period allowed 38mm restrictor together with works repositioned intercooler and uprated boost hoses. Works specification large capacity alloy Safari radiator and oil cooler with electric fan. Works composite intake system.

Other features include Works lightweight pedal box, pedals and steering column with adjustable rake.  Works spec gearchange linkage and mounting turret. Pontarolo built factory spec 5 speed straight cut dog box. Digital dash to works spec with new trip meter. New Atech seats and belts; in date extinguishers and new laminated heated screen.
