Description:
A rare matching numbers example repainted in its original Irish Green, chassis #4798 was first registered in Switzerland in 1966. It was imported and road registered in the UK some years ago and subject to a comprehensive body restoration and race preparation to correct pre-1966 FIA spec. It has recently renewed UK-issued FIA HTP papers in period F and the potential to be a class front-runner in that popular format.
The engine has the mandatory Solex carburettors and high compression pistons and cylinders. The gearbox has the shortened fourth and fifth ratios from the Nurburgring set and a limited slip differential. The running gear has regularly, and recently, been refreshed. The safety equipment is in date.
A known, well-presented and very eligible car, it has raced in the right places including, in the past year, the Goodwood Revival and the Members’ Meeting. The next owner can continue to enjoy the car exactly as it is, develop it further as a race car or soften it for more regular road use as they see fit. The early 911 is a true all-rounder and proper and correct examples such as this are highly sought-after.
